Sunday 21st May - 10:00 am; around Bungay-Bigod Way; 11 Miles

Hey there brave Ramblers! Join me for an adventure as we follow footsteps of George Baldry, a folk hero whose life story is featured in the book "The Rabbitskin Cap". At the foot of Bath Hills and on the edge of Outney Common the foot path crosses the Waveney by two narrow footbridges; there we shall start our journey. Though Rabbitskin run we shall carry on to The Bigod Way which continues to pass through areas of outstanding natural beauty.

The route offers a variety of wildlife, rare plants, and many sites of historical interest. Much of the route coincides with the Angles Way as it encircles the town and Outney Common along or near the River Waveney.

Walk will be at a moderate pace of about 3mph (20:00 min a mile) but will be adjusted accordingly to the group. We will make a few brakes along the way including a longer break for lunch and finish off with a small picnic at Outney Common or a pub (with second option much more likely). Walk will take approx. 5h

Please bring some food and drink as well as good footwear and waterproof kit (or at least jacket). Terrain is easy but be advised that footpath will at places follow closely to the river and might get quite muddy at times. Walk will start at Outney Common in Bungay. There should free parking available there as you’ll exit the roundabout from A143 Towards Bungay & Waveney Valley Golf Club. I’ll to a full recc of the path and parking on Friday so please stand by for any further information.

GPx file and map of the main loop are available at http://www.gps-routes.co.uk/routes/home ... king-route#
I’ll post detailed gpx and map Friday evening.

See you there!

UPDATE:
Hey there folks, due to damaged bridge I had to change the route a bit. Distance changed only slightly and we will have a nice chance to visit Bungay Castle and one of the pubs in the middle of the walk.

Getting There: At the roundabout from A143 Exit towards Bungay and Waveney Valley, just after you exit the roundabout turn left towards the golf course and just before the golf course car park there will be a free parking on your right. Click links below to see pictures that will help you to navigate towards car park (hopefully) . The Broads, Bungay NR35 1DS Address should lead you to the roundabout.

Hello, be great to join this if possible! Haven't been on a walk with you before. I'll be driving from norwich if anyone wants a lift.
