Sunday 4th June - Aylsham Walk (Leisurely, 7 miles)

Post by rpmay » Tue May 30, 2017 3:28 pm

Hi,

I will be leading a walk on Sunday 4th June from Aylsham centre, starting at 11:00

The meeting point is The Buttsland Car Park, Mill Road, Norfolk, Aylsham, NR11 6DU. Parking is free.

The walk is 7 miles long, and we will walk at a steady pace with a drink stop or two and a longer stop for lunch / snacks.

When we get back to Aylsham there will be various choices for a pub or cafe visit for those who want to.

Bring sensible clothing for walking and good footwear, plenty to drink and food for the lunch stop. Also don't forget your sunscreen.

I'll be walking this route on Friday, so I'll post any additional information when I've done the walk.

Hello, I would like to come on this walk and would be very grateful if someone could give me a lift from Thickthorn, Mulbarton or possibly Norwich bus station, if possible. Thank you, Emily Burkitt

Also if somebody from Norwich is able to give me a lift that would be great. I'm off Dereham Rd (near Fat Cat). Thanks for reading.

Emily & David,

I should be able to pick you both up, although timing will be fairly tight, so please be ready in advance of the proposed time.

I'll be leaving Poringland after the 09:00 mass, so that should finish at roughly 10:00.

By my calculations this would get me to Thickthorn for about 10:15. Is the entrance to the petrol station a good point to meet you, Emily?

I should then get to the Fat Cat just before 10:30. Shall I pick you up outside the Fat Cat, or is there a better place, David?

My number is 07802 270598

Richard

Having completed the reccy yesterday, there isn't much more to report, the walk was very straightforward, with easy terrain and no stiles.

The walk is a mixture is quiet lanes, field edges and, of course, in and out of Aylsham itself.

I couldn't see anywhere in the car park confirmation of the Buttsland name, but if you go to the stated postcode it is the only car park near there. It is a narrow car park with just one row of parking either side of a central road.

My arrival schedule is fairly tight so it is possible that I might be a minute or two late, although hopefully not! Don't panic if I'm not there at 11, I'll be along shortly.

Hello,

Would I be able to join you? I'm not a member but would be keen to find some people I can walk with.

Thanks,
Louise

Yes, you'd be welcome.

Our rules say that you can come on up to three walks before you need to decide if you want to join or not.

I am planning on coming on this walk - I am a lapsed Hike Norfolk member! I haven't been walking with the group for ages but am thinking about getting back into it so would it be OK to join you all tomorrow?

Thanks

Emily

In case anyone needs to contact me tomorrow, my number is 07802 270598. I won't respond between 9 and 10, as I'll be in church.
